Test Day Tips
Carefully review what you can bring into the testing center. Don't forget your admission ticket, photo ID, pencils, and an approved calculator. Prepare everything the night before so you don’t have to rush in the morning. Check out this link for what to bring to the SAT.
Get enough rest. Go to bed early the night before. Do something before bed to relax yourself, whether that’s exercising a few hours before bed or reading or meditating right before going to sleep.
Give yourself plenty of time in the morning to wake up, get ready, and arrive early to the testing center. Give yourself extra time for that unexpected Mexico City traffic.
Eat a filling and healthy breakfast.
Bring healthy snacks. Some great options are granola bars, fruit, nuts, a sandwich, etc. You don’t want to hear your stomach rumbling just as you begin the second Quantitative section.
Stay hydrated. Bring a water bottle and remember to drink water prior to and during the exam.
Wear comfortable clothing. Bring layers in case you get cold.
Stretch or walk around during breaks. Oxygen is imperative for brain function and enhanced blood flow increases the amount of oxygen transported to the brain, ensuring you can do your very best on the exam.
Visualize yourself leaving the test, feeling very happy with how it went. Positive visualization is a powerful tool! Check out this article to learn more about it.
